Had a chance to review the jerky from Pagosa Springs at the house of jerky. Had the kangaroo jerky first. Now this is a bad experiment in jerky. Don’t bother people had an expiration date of 10 29 25. I don’t know if that means that it was made in 10 25 24. But that was the date that it went bad in 24 was the day it was made. The meat has a rancid soft moist chewy texture. On top of the foul meat. They pour maple syrup, maybe Karo syrup. And then roll it into some kind of flour mixed with surprises, which leaves a very grainy texture on the tongue, the mouth peel of this jerky is horrible. But I really do believe that the meat is rancid. Next up was the elk jerky which one was no surprise. Processed in the same manner. Soft moist meat with a rancid background flavor that is not easy on the nose. Again wrapped up in Karo syrup and rolled in a to a flour mix of some type that leaves a pasty dry unpleasant mouth feel. Sorry to say this is the worst jerky I have ever eaten in my life. I have made a lot of jerky and I have had a few bad batches. Things that I’ve tried that did not work out the way I wanted them to. But this is the biggest disaster I have ever experienced. Be careful this may make you sick or at least throw out the bag. I did try it out on my animals. I have two little Chihuahuas and they thought it was great. So there you go dog food fit for a king. Don’t even try it not worth it.

This is such a cool and unique shop. I've never seen anything like it. We bought a few different flavors for a family gathering and had so much fun trying them all out. It's definitely a must-visit in Pagosa!

Such a fun and unique shop with everything from shark jerky to candied jalapeños! The new additions are so good! The peach cobbler is a must buy and my kids loved the freeze dried candies. We always get at least a few flavors of jerky and have never been disappointed.
