It does not make sense for one with a gluten sensitivity to go into a cafe called the Flour Girl Cafe, but if you say 'flour" out loud, it sounds ilke "flower," so, whatevah, guy. My goal was to "coffee, coffee, coffee" as Lorelai Gilmore does. Not "bagel, bagel, bagel" as others may do.

But the Flour Girl Cafe is a curiosity, because for such a rural part of Connecticut, it has quite the independent spirit. And for a town to *support* a business like this, as Hebron is not a population center, is indicative of a healthy town spirit. The Flour Girl Cafe is sorely needed in places like Fort Fairfield, Maine, or a town center outside of the more urbane areas of a Southern region. It feels like a place where everyone can gather. Where people are welcome.

It kind of reminded me of Star's Hollow from Gilmore Girls. Star's Hollow is modelled after a town in CT called Washington, which is west of Hartford, while Hebron is east of Hartford, but the feel of a town center is there. I parked in a lot and walked along a brick addled sidewalk towards the Flour Girl Cafe to get my coffee.

Approaching it was wonderful, because you could see a lot of what the town of Hebron has to offer. But once I got in, there was a variety of places to sit, menu options to pick from, and a display case that would allow a glutenous customer to select from.

A coffee was purchased here, hehe. But one can see where the time flies by when visiting Flour Girl Cafe. I recommend that you stop by here with a friend to see what Connecticut has to offer. Choose something from their menu, grab a beverage and walk along the town center. It has the feel of a quiet town, but it also feels like it welcomes everyone who might need a bite to eat, or at least, a coffee to drink.

I always make sure to stop at Flour Girl when I am in the area. Their coffee is delicious- I always get an almond joy latte which is made perfectly. I’ve tried some of their lunch sandwiches which are amazing, too! Best part about Flour Girl is the cinnamon roll Sundays. They also have a wide variety of bread, scones, pastries, cupcakes, cookies, and more. Can’t go wrong at Flour Girl!

This is a lovely little bakery with lots of options for breakfast, lunch, smoothies and coffee. I ended up with a loaded Belgian waffle, sunbutter-banana-chocolate chip sourdough toast and a nitro cold brew. Everything was delicious, well-portioned and fresh. I'm now addicted to sunbutter and will be returning for a loaf of one of their sourdough options! They have a nice variety of menu options and bakery items, but the shop does tend to get a little busy. It's on the smaller side, so just be prepared for a small wait and potentially cramped spacing on the weekends. The parking in front of the cafe is limited, but there is ample parking behind the building and only a short walk to the bakery and cafe. Eating in seems like it might be a bit difficult during the busier times, but the space was nice and furnished well. Pricing was good for the amount and quality of their menu. I'll definitely be back! I want to try some of their smoothies, and honestly if they were on the way to work, I'd probably stop there in the evening to grab one!

The cafe and bakery are beautiful. The service, attentive. The breads are a must to take home, and the pretty areas for sitting and enjoying breakfast are a must do. The honey lavender latte was so special, and all of our breakfasts were delicious. We took the laminated sourdough cinnamon bread and love it with jam in the morning. It's definitely worth a visit.

It was a huge surprise when I found out me and my sister had booked a Doctors appointment on the same day! We had about 45 minutes in between the appointments, so we decided to get a quick lunch around the area. Especially because we both drive 30-45 minutes to get to our doctor's office. In my search of a place to eat, I saw this cafe and I knew I wanted to try it out.

My first impression when walking up to and inside is that this place is adorable. The decor and style of the cafe felt like a cozy spot to rest and I was excited even before I saw a menu. Once inside, the screen with the menu was detailed so it took a minute or two for us to decide what to order. The staff and other patrons we're patient and kind. The person who took our order was joyful especially when I asked about one of the items on the daily specials board that caught my eye and ordering a lavender honey latte just as she was suggesting it.

Once our order was placed we sat at a few chairs by the window and not long after, our drinks were called. I ordered a Lavender Honey Oatmilk latte (love that they have multiple non-dairy milks) and my sister got an unsweetened iced tea. The latte was warm and cozy with a hint of sweet, just like the cafe itself. I am told the tea was really good as well.

Next, for our food. The Cranberry Turkey and Classic Turkey Sandwiches were fantastic. Both came with a pickle and chips. When the wait-staff brought over our food, they also took care to bring to-go containers because I had mentioned that we would need our orders to be to-go in case we didn't finish them. How kind!
The last thing ordered was from their daily specials. This was a whipped ricotta toast. It had apples, walnuts, and honey (I think?) and it was phenomenal!

I know this is a super long review, so thank you for taking the time to read it. I just wanted to share my joy with this wonderful cafe. Next time I am around this area, I will definitely be stopping by.

Went w a person in a wheelchair. It had a ramp which was a cobblestone type brick to get in but no chairs that had arms for her to help her get up, just small clear lucite chairs. I had called a few days before so I knew that I had to go.outside and bring a metal low chair w arms in side for her from patio dining. It was suggested we could sit in the low couch, which will not work!
Upon leaving and viewing another rear seating area, there were a couple of chairs w arms that were much more comfortable, had I known, I would have had my friend eat there. Hopefully if u are in a walker you read this. The food was good, very crowded, so u will have to wait awhile So if plan on using a walker in the rear house, as there was much more room for a walker at those tables especially to turn around and comfortable chairs w arms. The menu gave me vegetarian options also. Overall, pretty good lunch.

I’ve visited the Flour Girl several times. On this occasion we had the ham and cheese panini, which was good, and the cranberry turkey (on a wrap) which was like 87% lettuce and a bit disappointing. The coffee has gotten increasingly better, but it’s very sweet - my pistachio latte with “less syrup” still had 5 pumps. Overall I’ve enjoyed my experience here and feel like the three buildings increase the appeal of the center of town, but my last order costs them a star or two in my opinion.
