I went in thinking it's a general store and found ourselves in locally made fudge in 21 flavors.

We bought Walnut Mocha and Marshmallow chocolate fudge. Both flavors are absolutely amazing.

Went to Mystic Village today and went into Franklin Store. Had my small dog in a stroller. Did not see a sign that said no dogs allowed. I was there no more than 2 minutes when a woman came from out of nowhere and told me NO DOGS ALLOWED and that I had to leave immediately. I had gone there to purchase a car sticker for Vietnam Veteran (my husband has recently passed away) and I was going to just buy that. I asked her if I could at least pay for my purchase, she hesitated for a moment, and then said yes, but you have to leave immediately. I went directly to the register , and she followed me and said to the cashier, “She’s paying for that and then immediately leaving the store “. And said it very loudly. I felt like a criminal. I know I have to abide by their rules, but she could have said it nicely. Needless to say, I won’t be shopping here in the future. Very rude!

This is what an old fashioned general store should be! From food, soaps, books, toys, decorations and more, you can find it all here.

I loved their wide assortment of goods, which made for a fun and interesting walk through the shop.

I found some great Christmas gifts here, and can't wait to come back in the future to pick up some more unique treasures.

From the lady making the cashews and other praline nuts to the friendly staff at the checkout counter, everyone was extremely nice.
I liked the patriotism in the store, as well as the variety of different things you can get.

Much variety. Hard to navigate (tight); bit of a maze. Priced for the area. Lots of jams, preserves, and spices. Souvenirs available along with some very expensive fudge.

Franklin's is always a must visit when in Mystic. I'm sorry I don't have better pictures from my most recent visit, but I was too focused on looking around.

The store has a huge selection of jams, jellies, cheeses, sauces, condiments and more as well as books, items for the home and souvenirs. We also make sure to pick up a pound of fudge when we visit. Over the past 20+ years we have been coming to Franklin's the fudge has remained consistently delicious, which is a huge accomplishment in my mind. Often times places will change the recipe or start using cheaper ingredients but Franklin's fudge is just as creamy and flavorful now as it was the first time I came here. Highly recommend a stop for people in town or near by and don't forget to bring some fudge home!
