I sat down at the bar and immediately felt welcomed. The bartender was super nice and even adjusted the drink a bit to fit my taste. It was perfect (polar Paloma). I had the lobster bisque and I really enjoyed it. I just wish it was a little bigger!

An awesome bar and restaurant to check out. They had great drinks and a good beer list. The food was phenomenal, my girlfriend and I were in love with both of our plates. We sat at the bar and the severs were very attentive and pleasant to chat with. The vibe was chill and the place was aesthetically pleasing. There was also outdoor seating available.

The restaurant offers indoor and deck seating. The deck seating offers a nice view of the water. The menu has a variety of options. My husband had the Korean BBQ shrimp skewers and I had the korean BBQ vegetable stir fry w/ chicken. They were both delicious! The atmosphere is wonderful. We weren't overly impressed with the service, but the atmosphere and fabulous food made up for it. We went around 5 pm. They weren't very busy when we got there, but things picked up before we left. We would go again.

Came here with a friend for lunch. We shared the giant pretzel and it came with four cheese dipping sauce and honey mustard. We both got salads. She ordered the Cobb salad and I got the house salad. She also ordered the lobster bisque. Salads were hearty with the large portions. Pretzel was good but the cheese dip had a bit of cinnamon flavoring in it and I wasn't a fan of that. Her lobster bisque was runny instead of thick but I am unsure if that's how they typically serve it there. Server was friendly and attentive to us.
Parking is on street so if you can't parallel park you can find paid parking (during the work week only) near Sunset Cafe.

The vibe of The Blue Duck is spot on with nice lively bright decor, great music playing, televisions at the bar and great deck seating with nice views. The food is good bar food, nothing too spectacular, pretty typical offerings of burgers, sandwiches and wings. It's the service that is truly just the basic service. The young staff seats you, smiles a forced smile, takes your order, delivers your food and then takes the check. We didn't see any of them being friendly, welcoming or inviting. We love to sit at the bar to meet new people and learn about the town from the bartender. Unfortunately, the bartenders at the Blue Duck are just not into conversing with their bar guests, mostly just each other! We had wings and brussels sprouts and both were fresh and hot with plenty of sauce and just the right amount of crisp. Nothing was bad, it just wasn't that good!

I recently visited The Blue Duck in New London, CT for lunch and had a wonderful experience. The service was great and quick, which made the meal even more enjoyable. The wings were fantastic, and the salad was not only delicious but also gigantic! The ocean overlook added a nice touch to the dining experience. Overall, it was a delightful lunch, and I highly recommend The Blue Duck for anyone looking for great food and a pleasant atmosphere. I will definitely be returning!

Visited back in June and had an amazing experience, the patio setting is great giving waterfront views and views of the NEC below as well. Order the fish and chips and they were amazing and couldn't finish it all, my mom got the grilled chicken sandwich it was equally as good. The prices were also extremely good and fair for a restaurant my soda was only 2$ and fish and chips where only 16$. If your visiting New London this is a must visit restaurant.

Update as of 09/24
I can say sadly i will be lowering my review after our recent visit this same fish and chips is now 22$ we ended leaving and going to the pizza place across the street. Hopefully this is more a market price issue but looking at previous photos it was 20$ only 2-3 months ago

I recently went to the Blue Duck & Kitchen for lunch a couple of weeks ago waiting for my amtrak train departure (Perfect location and Ambiance by the way)….I had the PB & J wings and was blown away how amazing it was. As a chef of 20 years and more, I appreciated everything about the operation especially the staff including my bartender Sara who was very polite, nice, enthusiastic, a great sense of humor and absolutely a wonderful person overall. I highly recommend this establishment for any event catered from a simple lunch, dinner, even a reception gathering. I look forward to coming back again in a few weeks! Thank you for everything!
