This is the quintessential Italian mom and pop grinder shop in New London. Sonny and Lucy Pezzello have been there since 1969. Grinders are fabulous, crusty or soft rolls, and Thursdays are sesame seed rolls! Staff is ALWAYS welcoming. When going to the beach in the summer, they are open early, call in your order and have the best picnic on the beach! One caveat: Cash Only.

The grinders are good and reasonable. But, I went in to order a pepperoni grinder and was told they were out of pepperoni. They had a roll in the deli cooler do i said what about that? The woman said it isn't cut. Well I was the only one in the store, you'd think she could cut it and make a sale. I guess not, I won't ne back.

Stopped here with my husband randomly the day after our wedding on our way out of town, and had the pleasure of meeting Nisa as we walked up to the store. The grinders were fantastic, but the service was even better. It was our first meal alone as a married couple and we could taste the love in every bite. Thank you, Nisa for feeding two very hungry newlyweds and giving us a core memory we’ll cherish for years to come!

Such a great fixture of New London for such a long time. Delicious subs. I got the Regular size Genoa which is generally their most popular sandwich. For good reason. Get it with the oil and vinegar and red pepper flakes. 😚🤌chef's kiss

Called for the price for a large grinder. I wanted a pepperoni grinder. They had no pepperoni so I ordered a large ham grinder with provolone cheese, no tomatoes with salt and pepper and grinder oil. I got soft bread, hard lettuce,ham and provolone cheese. Most boring and tasteless grinder for $9.

Stopped in with my friend today and was greeted by the sweetest women, Luci made my day. The grinders where amazing on the fresh crunchy bread as was the fresh tomato salad they recommend, if we're ever back in the area we will return.
