This park is an absolute gem, its trail overlooks bay waters, heron and osprey are common sights, and the experience is very humbling. I feel a connection to nature here, where the importance of our wetlands sings through every tuft of grass, each tree, even down to the smallest bug or tadpole. I hope you include the Bethany Beach Nature Center on your next family outing.

Stopped for a quick visit at the nature walk. It’s about a 30 min engagement with some neat nature sightseeing. We saw many birds and I was able to capture some Osprey in their natural habitat.

This was a highlight of our most recent trip to Bethany Beach. I am not sure how we have missed it in previous years, but we won't skip it going forward. First, there's a nice playground right beyond the historic house which functions as the visitor center. It is a pretty standard climbable play structure with monkey bars and a slide. Our two year old had a good time going up and down over and over.

The next thing we checked out was the demonstration garden of native plants. It was getting on in the season so many of the species were done flowering, but there were still many late summer blooms to check out, absolutely swarming with pollinators.

Then there was a nature walk that went out into a marsh area, where we were able to see several osprey going about their business. This part of the nature reserve had little shade which made it a bit oppressive in the heat of the day, but that's just how it is when you're in the middle of a wetland.

Overall it was a great visit for families.

Great educational center - we were a party of adults but think young children would enjoy as well. Short nature walk on a groomed trail/ boardwalk that my 85 year old parents could enjoy. Nice for a quick stop

A fine little nature center with a stroller accessible 0.8 mi out and back trail that includes a boardwalk above a marshland and plenty of opportunities to spy an osprey. The small playground makes this a nice way to spend an hour or so with kiddos

Small playground and short cute boardwalk. In winter not a lot of wildlife to see. But there are two osprey nests and a view of the marsh in winter. It's a nice diversion for little kids to get a taste of winter. Building was closed today so no idea what's inside.

Great place for small children. There is a well maintained, stroller friendly, trail, a small playground and nature center. The nature center opens at 10, but you can use the playground and trail before then. There were lots of activities to do in the nature center and you could also borrow items for your nature walk/scavenger hunt. I only wish it was bigger and the kids were able to interact with the animals more.

My favorite part of our vacation this year. I searched for a place like this and we were lucky enough to go on a special day when they were having a gust speaker. It was so educational and fun and beautiful. The kids had fun making sharks and seeing some cool things. If you love nature I definitely recommend going! The trail in the back has stunning views! I didn't take photos of the amazing stops along the trial I was too busy being mesmerized.
