It was my first time trying this place, and I had really high hopes based on all the good reviews. I drove 30 minutes for this food, and I ordered the Turkey Wings with stuffing and gravy dinner plate. Overall, I’m just disappointed and disgusted. The Mac and cheese and candied yams were good. The turkey wings were okay, but I expected better. The cornbread did not look homemade or fresh, it was cold and mushy. Immediately after I unwrapped the cornbread, I turned it around and saw what looked like some sort of dead insect or fly plastered on it 🤢 I couldn’t even finish the food. I really wanted to like this place, but I will not be back!

The food here is AMAZING!! I almost didn't want to share this review 🤣🤣 Everything is top notch. There's a normal 15-20 min wait for orders, but trust me, it's well worth the wait. This is Soul Food at its finest.

We eat here at least once a month. Delicious soul food. My favorite is the fried trout, fries, and collard greens. Another favorite is the meatloaf platter with collard greens and candid yams. Friendly staff.

The restaurant responded, which I encourage. However, their response was lacking in fact. Other establishment don't drop biscuits in their sauce as dumplings. They used dough and cut it up. This establishment used boxes butterfly pasta, not rolled dough as they claim. They also defended their use of using whole chicken pieces in their dish. That's fine if the patrons know this prior to purchase. I didn't want whole chicken pieces, and made my opinion known. Their reply should have been to thank me for my review. and say that they will take note, period. Instead, they tried to make me look like a disgruntled customer. That is far from the truth, and they have lost a customer and received a reduced star rating as a result. From a 5 to a 3.

It is also noteworthy to inform patrons that the restaurant received numerous sanitary citations (14) from the Health Department in a July 25, 2024, inspection.

UPDATE - August 9, 2024
My wife told me that this establishment had chicken and dumplings on the menu and asked if I wanted to try it. I agreed and ordered it along with other items. I was disappointed with the item. The sides were good as usual, but the entree was disappointing. When I think of chicken and dumplings, I picture pieces of chicken cut up in a sauce with flour dumplings. This meal was a whole chicken leg and thigh, covered with some butterfly noodles. Technically, chicken and noodles, but a stretch to me for a soul food restaurant. I included 3 images. 2 of them was the meal I received. 1 is of what I perceived to be chicken and dumpling. I'm so disappointed!!!!

I stopped past for some food today and was impressed by the meal. I ordered a pig feet dinner with two sides. The greens and potato salad were perfect compliments for the pig feet. I will definitely be going back there. i have to try their smothered pork chops. I highly recommend this restaurant. My compliments to the chef/cook.

Granny Darmics is a hidden jewel. We were visiting, found this spot on Google. The food was delicious, staff is friendly, and the prices are reasonable. I’m from the south, and this is southern soul cooking. ❤️. Be prepared to wait a bit, they cook to order- but it’s worth it!

This the 3rd time i got fish from there and it was dry over seasoned and nasty only thing good here is the sides 1st experience ever was good but that was years ago when they first opened you can tell it ain't made wit love anymore 27$ going to waste and i was starving and they didnt even give me my greens !! Best thing here is the mac n cheese greens and yams i don't recommend the fish at all
