What started out as a simple Google search of "food near me" ended as the best dining experience since the start of my visit here in DC. EVERYTHING from the decor, ambiance, service, and the food was absolutely amazing! The menu is completely filled with dozens of dishes that are sure to please even the pickiest eaters. I had the Cajun jambalaya pasta and I would be hard pressed to think of another time I've had better jambalaya. My coworker got the shrimp and grits and he was amazed at the quality ingredients and fantastic flavor. I got a few of their specialty cocktails as well and I thoroughly enjoyed them, so I definitely recommend you check those out as well. Overall, Shaw's managed to go above and beyond my wildest expectations and I will DEFINITELY be back again.

Jorge was the most amazing waiter we've had on our DC trip by far! He was well versed in the menu, and where all the good food spots were! His personality is the best-- very much what we're used to in south and he is absolutely hilarious! We adored him!!! His partner behind the bar was great as well, checked on us several times. The food was killer! We left Lé Diplomat to come here.....and it did NOT disappoint!!!!

Great place for large parties and has indoor and outdoor seating. Their menu is pretty diverse so you should be able to find something you like, and pricing is on trend with other DC restaurants. Service is usually fast, and they have no issues with keeping unlimited mimosas full during brunch.

Star is being removed because when the food comes from the kitchen, the staff just barks out the food item which is sometimes not really what it is called on the menu, making it kind of chaotic. It should be on the waiter/staff to know who ordered what and have it sent directly to that person. Another issue is the disingenuous additional tip on top of the 20% service fee for large parties. It isn't clear that the service fee is already included, and when you check out, it suggested an additional tip on top of that (+ a small fee for paying using the app).

While I thought the place was cool and laid back it is entirely too small to be serving brunch. The brunch I got was also not great. I ordered chicken and waffles and the waffles were dry so I had to drench it in syrup which somehow didn’t help. They also served me an entire whole chicken breast. I was expecting wings. I think this place may be better at night.

The food was really good! I got the buffalo chicken dip w/baguette, brisket platter with Gouda grits and onion rings, as well as the Spicy gold mango margarita. Everything was good but the brisket and the buffalo chicken dip were perfect! The margarita was really unique and had a bit of a kick from the Tajin salt rim but it was amazing!

Definitely would recommend!

Very nice place to hangout. The food was good, the ambience too, and service was friendly and attentive.. They are pet friends, so that's a plus. But the price is a little over for this type of restaurant. Ex: $14 for 7 chicken wings is kind of overpriced. But overall it was a good experience.

Very nice location and ambiance with the outside patio! I enjoyed the corn bread waffle and the chicken was super juicy and perfectly crisp! The only thing I wish the chicken for the chicken/waffles was boneless. They have great drink specials and brunch!
