Well, the first time that I went to the Havasu Balloon Festival, I was in awe, the entire time. Now it has been many years, and enjoy it immensely. Very clean park, and very polite and informative folks who work there! Looking forward to this year, just hope that the wind doesn’t spoil it! We will be heading out tomorrow and meet up with our camping friends for another great Festival!

Up close and personal! Don't get tangled in the lines or in the way of the tethers. Awesome morning ascension. Wind in the evening didn't cooperate for the River glow on Saturday.

Disappointment- not worth $20pp entrance fee!. Vendors so-so, music enjoyable, nice food variety (prices obviously inflated, no pun intended) Unfortunate wind to strong for balloons to go for night show, but they did a night flame which was cool.

We traveled from Oklahoma to Lake Havasu, AZ to do this show as vendors and it was GREAT! Weather was great. People were great! Atmosphere was great! Very happy with them! The only complaint I would make is that the vendor rows were set up weird and not wholly conducive for maximum selling for some of the vendors. I felt bad for some vendors towards the end.

They need someone new setting up the vendor tent layout but otherwise it was good!

I posted this before now I am blocked. Truth hurts. They need to prevent over stuffing the gondolas. If for nothing else safety reasons. The Aeronauts need room for emergencies.

Couple years ago we invited friends to come for the weekend to celebrate their anniversary. He wanted to give his wife the gift of riding in a balloon. Something she always wanted to do. They were the first to get in the basket after paying a steep price. Another couple got in, and another, a family of four. They kept shoving people in until their shoulders were squeezed together. Standing stiffly. She was pushed to the center. I could see him peering through other people. His eyes bulging. Then I hear the pilot say I need room. Everyone sucked it in and shifted toward the door. I was so embarrassed that this event even allowed this. Disappointed doesn’t cover it for me. Over it. I’ll stick to watching it from my back yard or the village. Then again, I might just decide to sleep in and not watch at all. Kinda get a sour taste in my mouth every time I see a balloon. Especially since I have ridden in a balloon, not in Havasu, for less money and only 4 of us in it. I had told them what a great adventure it was.

My family enjoys it every year, but maybe it’s time to change the dates because of the weather. Every year the weather changes the outcome of the festival. We won tickets to have a hot air balloon ride in the past. It was cancelled because of the weather. This year, because of work, we had to miss a day. Deciding to go before it closed, guess what; cancelled. We love this festival, but maybe it’s time to change.

This is a total scam. We drove a150 miles just to watch the balloons fly. After spending $80.00 on tickets, we were informed the balloons wouldn’t fly! When asking for our money back as we weren’t interested in the supposed carnival or over priced food venders, we were told the festival was for charity and no refunds would be given. It felt more like a scam then a legitimate charity. Moreover when we tried to give our unused bracelets to a family with children their guards ran up to us and said we couldn’t give them away? To make this even worse your are forced to pay for a 4 day pass even though it is totally impractical to attend more then one day! Overall this poor excuse for a charity event convinced us that it a total waste of money. There are many other balloon flying events that won’t leave you feeling that you were fleeced like the Havasu Balloon rip off!

Absolutely the worst place in the world to fly balloons, except maybe Albuquerque New Mexico. The wind never stops blowing in Lake Havasu. NEVER AGAIN!!
