Such a gorgeous beach!! It is an awesome spot to visit if you love seashells. If you are looking for a beautiful beach with soft sand and lots of shells, this one is great. The entrance fee is on the high side, but it does last for a week, so it works out well. Just a note: Be mindful of the nude sunbathers at Entrance 5.

A bit too chilly for me to enjoy the beach right now, but I'll be back! There are many parking spaces and parking lots to choose from. It is pretty pricey for a pass, but worth it for me for an area that's a little less busy. There are restrooms in every lot. I didn't see an area to rinse off, but maybe I overlooked. I always refill used water bottles before leaving home and use them to rinse off instead.

We've spent many great days in this national park. Our last visit was special though because we had some trouble with a boat motor. As we were putting our boat in the water officer Doug drove up and we had a really good conversation. Really nice guy, was able to answer all my questions, and just seemed to be a person doing his job very well. While talking to him I actually felt relieved that we had met him, and I would soon find out why. We put the boat out on the water with my son in it and he took off and started fishing. After about 2 hours I got a call from him saying that the trolling motor on his kayak kept cutting off. He had a paddle and he knew where he was and was sending me GPS locations. The big problem was that he was in between boat launches on the mosquito lagoon side. And the park was closing within an hour. I knew that he was not going to be able to get to a boat launch if the motor had completely failed and I did not know what to do if we got locked in the park. So I called 911 and spoke to an amazing operator who gave me a phone number and took down all our information in case he got stranded after dark. Yes he has safety lights, a headlamp, and a safety flag with a strobe. You also have plenty of water and I really wasn't worried about his safety at this point. Well within about 15 minutes of speaking with 911 officer Doug showed up. I was relieved because my son was slowly getting to the boat pull out, but officer Doug showed me one that was a lot closer than what we had planned. My son showed up about 3 minutes before closing and we had to load the boat and go pick up another vehicle all the way at the end of the park. Officer Doug waited on us and let us out at the park entrance. EVERYONE we spoke with were some of the nicest, most patient, and professional people I've ever worked with. I won't lie, I was a little bit worried and felt a little bit alone trying to get my son back in. But the way we were helped with the situation was amazing, and I just want to thank everyone very much. The boat is repaired now... poorly designed electrical quick release that has been replaced. We went out again yesterday and all was well.

Nice beach close to Daytona where you can get somewhat away from the crowds. The only thing is the sand is very coarse so after a while it starts to hurt your feet when barefoot. It was worth it though because I got to see my first ever rocket launch 🚀.
