I honestly think they screen Birmingham for the nicest people ever and hire them to work here. Also, I'm spoiled for anyone else's ice cream. Seriously, there's no comparison. The seasonal menu changes are always bittersweet (oh no I can't order that anymore?/oh wow! They have that?!), but there's always always something amazing here.

Such a cute ice cream shop with fresh ingredients and lots of flavors (including some vegan if needed). The staff was very kind and accommodating and the outside area is really nice.

It's easy to miss Big Spoon because it's sort of tucked away and doesn't have a storefront on the street, but trust me, it's worth looking for. The ice cream is rich and creamy, and the flavors are surprising and delicious. I had the lime coconut sea salt and a very generous scoop topping one of the crispiest, most delicious, and hand-made cones I've ever experienced. I'll admit I went a little at the price until I saw the size of the scoop and cone and experienced how rich and carefully made the ice cream is. Summer in a cone!

They were so sweet! My daughter had some friends join her at gatos and beans for her birthday and after we wanted to go for ice cream. So I walked in with eight girls and they were so patient and friendly. When they found out it was my daughter’s birthday they even gave her a gift card! We will definitely be back!

Nice ice cream shop with a variety of flavors. The only 3 flavors they consistently have is vanilla, chocolate and cookies and creme, the rest of the flavors are seasonal and always changing. The staff are very friendly and prices are reasonable at $3.75 for one scoop in a cup.
