This place is a local gem, the best kept secret. Seriously where else will you have such an intimate ambiance with only a few rows of tables and undoubtedly world-level musicians playing right in front of you.

The food comes from the American Pub downstairs that has an amazing menu and some of the best wood-fire pizzas, burgers, gourmet salads in the area.

We can’t wait to be back, it was a date night unlike any other. Thank you for bringing and sharing culture in Melbourne. 🔥🎷

Only comment is: it would add extra class to the place if waitresses had an elegant dress code. Such elevated cultured experience requires nothing else. 💃🏻The service was wonderful though.

Our first visit ever to this establishment was a good one. 2 drink minimum per person, but they were flexible with that if you ordered food too. The music was great, the drinks were good, that peanut butter dessert was AMAZING…my only complaint is that the music they played when the band wasn’t playing was way too loud. And I’m saying that as someone who had to wear earplugs the whole time just to be barely comfortable enough to stay in the venue. We were yelling at each other at the table in an attempt to carry on any conversation, and that level of volume for what should just be background music really wasn’t necessary to create a nice atmosphere. It’s the only reason I took away the fifth star for this review. All that being said, we plan to keep an eye on their schedule of upcoming music nights and return at some point.

I celebrated my pre birthday tonight with Tony Wynn and Cameron Brown. Amazing Jazz sounds and truly was Therapeutic. I was just in aw as I jammed to their soulful sound.

Nice cozy jazz lounge in a great location! Rotating live music throughout the month, our show started at 8pm sharp on Saturday. There’s no cover fee to get in, but they do have a two drink/item minimum. The food menu is from the pub downstairs which had great options (Pub Americana). We had the pizza (dough imported from New York) and veggie dumplings, both were very tasty. Will definitely be back to check out another set of live music!

The food is amazing(we had the BBQ chicken pizza, and the Mac and cheese both were excellent) The vibe is so cool!The Monday night and Thursday night comedy shows are a must! Get your tickets in advance because they sell out!

Just went here on Friday after they reopened and was super impressed with the cleanliness and new carpet. Felt like a new place. Awesome music and service too!

As one who has spent many a travel night hitting clubs in various states and cities, The Blind Lion runs with the best of them. It is a small club nestled above a restaurant below it.

On our arrival, my travel companion and I had trouble finding it initially as there were two 101s on the street. As we entered from the stairs after meeting some of the band members in the street below, we found a small venue with a narrow stage at the front where TW6 was setting up.

For dinner my travel companion had the ahi tuna appetizer and I had a Cajun Penne pasta with salmon. The meals are brought up from the restaurant below and both were EXCELLENT!

The Blind Lion has a full bar but neither of us partook of it. We enjoyed a dry red wine called Quantam Leap that we both found appealing.

TW6, the band that was playing was an amazing jazz band playing various jazz hits as well as entertaining the attendees by having us provide a word and they would then adlib an impromptu song around the word. They are a very talented band and both my guest and I would highly recommend seeing them.

The service was expectedly slower although not painfully so. With two on staff and a very busy club, it was bearable although noticeable. Beyond that, it was a 5 star night!

Seating was a bit tight, and there was no room for dancing. Service with keeping an eye on drink refills could improve. Only one small unisex bathroom. However, everyone was very friendly, and we enjoyed the intimate and chill atmosphere. Entertainment was awesome, and the food was great, too. We will be back.
