This preserve offers a decent little hike up to a circle of forest, part of which can offer an overlook of the river. In spring especially, Cedar Cliff will provide visitors with a chance to see many different ephemeral spring flowers if they time their visit correctly. Lots of birds to view as well. Usually I've seen only one or two other people at this preserve, if any - it's very peaceful.

This is one of my favorite forest preserves out of the 44 in the Winnebago County. There are so many wildflowers and it is so expansive and peaceful. When you walk into the mesic forest you will find a cliff that overlooks the River and is very peaceful. The trails all loop around and connect so you can't get lost.
