If you are looking for the best local coffee shop I would consider Common Grounds. It's the nearest certain fun time for grounded coffee and also an impressive Cafe. Its the perfect place to study and I personally trade in the morning. Great barista and cute environment for talking. Thank you ☕

Common Grounds in Waco has been an integral part of my Baylor experience, offering not just a cup of coffee, but a warm, cozy, and personable atmosphere that's both fun and inviting. As a beloved local spot next to the Baylor Campus, it's the smaller yet equally charming counterpart to the other Common Grounds locations.

What makes this place truly special is its unique vibe that combines a comfortable setting with an eclectic touch. Whether it's meeting friends or taking a short walk off campus for a top-notch coffee, Common Grounds never disappoints with its quality and friendly environment.

An interesting aspect of this coffee shop is its history with the local community. It's a longtime favorite among locals and students alike, known for its great coffee and relaxed setting. This place isn't just a coffee shop; it's one of Waco's most popular intimate concert venues, adding a lively dimension to its already vibrant atmosphere. They even have an association with one of the Season 2 renovated houses from a famous TV show, where the episode featured Chip eating a cockroach - but rest assured, that's not part of the coffee shop experience!

Moreover, Common Grounds stands out with its cowboy-themed drinks, like the 'No Bull,' made with their renowned sweet and caffeinated Secret Sauce. It's this combination of great drinks, addictive atmosphere, and the joy of live music that makes Common Grounds a go-to spot not just for Baylor students but for anyone seeking a quality coffee experience in Waco.

Great local spot!
This was my first time in Waco and I heard from several people I needed to check this place out, and I’m very glad I did.

STAFF & DRINK:
The baristas were kind and made good recommendations. I got the No Bull iced with their secret sauce (caramel-chocolatey type); they have the small pellet ice.

ATMOSPHERE:
Very eclectic style with lots of unique decorations. Seems like a great place to read & people watch. Had some power strips around if you’re wanting to get work done. Lots of indoor and outdoor options for seating, cute place for a coffee date. Outdoor also has a stage for live music

BATHROOMS:
Outside and look sketchy at first, but are air conditioned and have a changing table (at least the women’s).

PARKING:
A couple spots on street out front, an open lot in the back. They also have a drive thru

Came here early morning during spring break and many customers (Baylor students I guess) were there. Got cold brew and a drip coffee ("cast iron blend") and also banana bread and lemon blueberry bread (had wanted tacos but they were not available). Liked both the drinks and the bread (loaf cake). Noticed the lable on the bread said "Heritage Creamery", which is the ice cream shop next door, and wish we had had a chance to go there too. Atmosphere was welcoming and pleasant; where we sat, furniture and deco gave a cozy hunting-lodge sort of feel, though alltogether it was as if the space was a house and not a cafe. The staffers were helpful and friendly.

Common Grounds Waco is a pretty cool spot to hangout! The service was great and the atmosphere was fun with plenty of places to sit and study. The coffee and tea on the other hand was not so good. The coffee syrups are too sweet. All you can taste is the sugar and no coffee. The coffee was watered down quite a bit with the type of ice they use. Overall 3 stars because it’s a great place to study.

Absolutely fantastic coffee and staff. If you are looking for coffee in Waco do not pass on this spot.

If you are looking to park be aware there is a lot in the back that is very difficult to get to if you are coming off the highway.
