This is a hidden gem, and if you like rum based cocktails it's a must!

Nestled in the Union Market District, this open-air bar exudes a welcoming individuality. The bartenders create a friendly atmosphere, complemented by great music. The spacious layout, complete with an oversized skylight, provides a perfect setting to unwind with any-sized group. The bar's beauty lies in its hexagonal light wood design adorned with wildlife pictures, perfect for cocktail pics.

The ambience is matched by the quality of the cocktails, which range from premade options to frozen drinks and freshly mixed concoctions. Whether you're catching up with friends or looking to meet new people, this spot is a dope spot in Union Market.

I have been going to this place for a while and love this place. Recently I went to the bar and was disappointed by one of the staff. The gentleman at the bar is just a super friendly nice guy that makes awesome drinks. The lady working there that day was rude and in one our friends face. I found it somewhat concerning that when another group of people that were not like us came in her service improved by 100%. It made us all uncomfortable. I hope this isn’t a common thing of guests that look like me. In today’s climate it is extra important to keep speak up when things like this happen. That’s why I rated it poorly.

The cocomotion cocktail was legitimately the best rum based cocktail I’ve ever had in my entire life! We had to order 2 of them while we were there! Would give 6 stars if I could for that cocktail alone! The place has slightly pricey cocktails at $14, but it is worth it in my opinion. The pink panther cocktail was good, but not as good as the cocomotion. We also tried the rum flight which was tasty and a good value for the price since you get to try 6 rums for $16!

One of my favorite places to visit in D.C. regardless of the season. This rum distillery has plenty of amazing and well-priced drinks, but they are especially known for their slushes. All of them are good, but my favorite is the Cocomotion with Coconut, Pineapple Pandan, and White Rum; however, their swirls are a great option.

There is plenty of indoor dining space with two counters in the bar room and a spacious back room that is heated in the winter with a fun disco ball in the center. In the summer, one can sit on the street in a turf setting. There is one bathroom for anyone to

Service and drinks were great! HOWEVER, be aware that if you sit outside, you will be required to order on a QR code. That online system asks for a tip when you place the order (even though you don't know anything about your drink and haven't seen your server yet). Then, when you go to close out, you discover that they automatically add 20% gratuity on all checks, and that 20% is *on top of* the tip you've already left. If, before you close out, you bring it to the attention of your server, they tell you that it cannot be adjusted.

While the service was good, I did *not* intend to leave a 44% tip, and I fundamentally do not believe that they don't have the ability to adjust orders that were placed by phone.

Really amazing place! Excellent rums, creative drinks and super friendly and attentive staff. The bar area is inviting and has a great vibe, with a well-curated assortment of spirits and tunes. Outside seating options (minimal but somehow perfect!) is a plus. And one final hat-tip for providing ample water to keep you hydrated as you imbibe.
