The best restaurant we've been to in a long time!

Our waitress was attentive, efficient, and friendly. The appetizers (jamón iberico and burrata) were incredible, and drinks were also very delicious. I ordered the half chicken with grits for an entrée and it was extremely flavorful and cooked perfectly.

The only thing that slightly disappointed me was the dessert. We ordered the chocolate ganache with pistachio gelato. The ganache had flaked salt on top and was too salty for my taste.

I really want to like this place, I really do. Their modern space with all the right lighting and touches set the stage for a great dining experience.

Their pricing is high with $30 appetizers and $40/$50 entrees. The food itself is pretty magical on many levels.

The delivery and service of their product does not merit the pricing and there is no value to the dining experience here. When I spend this amount for dinner, I expect to have excellent service.

The service does not match the excellent food and ambiance. I always feel like I am dining at an I-Hop or Panera Bread here on a service level. The service staff are pleasant but indifferent and mediocre at servicing at best. They should be better trained at getting things aligned with the elevated pricing points. This is not their fault but the fault of management who time and time again accept this as "normal' for New Canaan. Well, it is not, and I will not be returning. I will miss your excellent food but would rather visit adjacent options who understand excellent service standards,

Elm definitely seems to be one of the go-to spots in New Canaan! It was super busy there even for a Wednesday night when we went. They have a great cocktail selection, and all of the food we had was fresh and tasty. Some of our favorites were the bacon wrapped dates and the veal. All of the menu choices were great for the summer. Because the restaurant is on the smaller side inside, it did get noisy pretty fast, but it seemed like a community-oriented spot where the locals knew each other well.

Came for “the best burger in CT” and Elm didn’t disappoint. Burgers came in under 10 minutes and we finished them in under 5. So juicy and so flavorful. One complaint is the bottom bun could be a little thicker- but other than that my family and I left with a WOW impression.

Very clean atmosphere as soon as you enter the restaurant. We decided to try them out for brunch last minute. Staff is very attentive to the guests. The menu is a little on the pricier side but the service was very quick! The king cole cocktail was one of the best cocktails I’ve had in a long time. We started with the pull apart bread which was light and fluffy. My friend had the crispy pork hash and I did the lobster roll with a side of the black truffle fries. The hash had a really good flavor and the mushrooms had a slight crisp to them adding an extra flavor! Would definitely try them out for dinner service in the future!

Elm is a reliable and delicious experience. Perfect for a family dinner or date night. The seasonal menu is always fun. The pasta is not to be missed. Their grilled romaine salad and mushroom flatbread are great starters. Their meat dishes and specials are always worth a try!!
