They are always the kindest and most knowledgeable folks. We’ve really enjoyed the guided trips we’ve been on & appreciate all of the guides and how affordable the trips are!! Rentals are very reasonable and I’ve never had issues renting or returning. They do a great job caring for the facilities and providing rec opportunities for soldiers and their families.

My wife and GSD just stayed in one of the cabins for 4 days and 3 nights. It was perfect if you have kids and a dog. There is Forrest with trails to go walk or explore. This place should recieve 5 stars. Cabins were brand new and very nice. Now for the negative part. We opened the closet, but there was not a bar to hang up clothes, but they had corn hole in it. Then you must bring all your linens and towels. Bedding and pillows. Good thing I called because you must also bring a shower mat to step on when you get out. And the twin bed they say they have is for a child. There is a queen bed in the bedroom and queen. Pull out in living room. At least finish closet, If you are going to make people bring their entire house. Besides all that it was a nice place to stay.

This is more directed at the decision makers than outdoor recreation. Went by Ironhorse park and found this (see picture). Pretty disappointing. When I have the opportunity to talk to teenagers about the military as a coach or medical provider, I really have a hard time recommending the Army.

Rented kayaks. No inspection done with me and I trusted staff. A damaged oar was issued and damaged foot rest in single kayak. My relatives used both but didn't tell me about damage until I turned equipment in. No inspection done by staff on turn in. Received call that they would charge $130 of my deposit for a $75 oar! Contacted Ms. Giles and she blew me off! Watch out, don't make the same mistakes. They'll rip you off. MAJ. Walters (Ret)

Like most govt instituions, they don’t have your best interests in mind and will you over if you’re not careful.

I rented 3 kayaks for the 4th of July. I watched and helped them pack 2 of those kayaks however, one was already packed up. Instead of making them open up the bag to repack it, I trusted them. It was missing a component, but I could not get my refund back.

It’s not as if it’s that much cheaper to rent from the MWR. I’ve rented equipment from the a handful of times. Would rather go to a kayak rental off base.

Super friendly staff.
They have everything from camper trailers, hauling trailers, sporting equipment and more.
They also take donations. If you’re moving and want to downsize , donate here to support other Military families. We just donated 3 outdoor grills.
Military families taking care of military families!

Awful. Was charged an extra $25 (entire day’s rate) per snow board/boots for turning them in at 2:35 pm vs 2:00. No one is ever in there so I can see now they make their money by scamming soldiers.

This place sucks. Their equipment is average at best and soldiers save no money by going here. Seriously, stay away. I should have heeded warnings by previous reviews.

Scam ,- YOU HAVE THEM DO A PRE AND POST INSPECTION & YOU TAKE PICTURES TOO AS THEY WILL PROMISE ME COME BACK AND SAY “YOU DAMGED EQUIPMENT” - they will not give you your deposit back, and they will attempt to charge you on your CC illegally based on them misleading, lying, committing fraudulent business practice under a Federal Contract. corrupt. Then, without even thinking about it you’ll see a charge on your statement one to 2 days later for what they will allege (“state why”) you of damaging equipment” and they evade inquiries into why. When they do / have responded it’s been same response everyone on here is saying. They DO NOT TO PRE OR POST INSPECTIONS!!!! THIS IS THE SOLUTION. IF THEY DO NOT GET THIS WITH EMPLOYEE AND CUSTOMER SIGNATURE PRE AND POST THEY CANT DO THIS
