It’s 2024. Almost 2025. I understand this location is a dead mall. But the mark up on items is beyond acceptable. I understand making sales and profit. But my gosh people. Double prices on many things? Movies double price? Collectibles double prices? Many things marked up up to $30.00 dollars more? Wow

Oh FYE... ugh. Everything is insanely overpriced, low quality things. Seriously - every time I've visited I've found maybe one, or two things that caught my eye, looked at the price tag and actually rolled my eyes before putting it back.

The staff are pushy, VERY pushy and will try to subvert you into buying into their membership junk that isn't worth the money. I'm shocked it's still open in this sad, tired old mall.

highly disappointed in this store!!! my husband and i went in today to look around and we ended up purchasing a fidget toy mystery box (it sucked by the way). upon checking out the cashier offered to save us 10% by providing an email and our address. at no point did he disclose it was a monthly subscription! this is definitely illegal. don’t fall for the tricks. i understand they have quotas to meet but doing it this way is not right

When you check out and they offer you to get 10% off your total DO NOT DO IT. SAY NO. DON'T GIVE THEM YOUR E-MAIL. A month back when my partner and I shopped here we were told if we signed up with an email we get 10% off our total so we said sure. At no point did they disclose this was a subscription and that we would be charged monthly. Pretty sure this is illegal and they make it hard for you to cancel it.

When i was checking out back in late June, the cashier got me to agree to a subscription service without letting me know it was a subscription. I thought it was a club card like a free club card you get at the gas station by how he worded it. Because of that, I unknowingly agreed to a $11.99 a month membership, which didn't start until August 28th. When i realized this, I tried to cancel it before it started charging, but i was never given any account information I could use to cancel the FYE Backstage membership. It took me calling my bank and asking them to intervene to get rid of the two charges on my bank account. Customer service tried to sell me other plans while I wanted to terminate everything I "agreed to". If i want to buy music cds ill buy it online where I wont be tricked into subscription memberships.

A interesting store with a diversity in merchandise. Like the tee shirts on display. Enjoy checking out the turn tables and something I grew up with albums. My family especially my grandsons love shopping here. The store is was very clean, organized and well stocked. Plan on coming back to FYE to purchase a turn table.

Its been a while since I've visited an FYE, I stopped in last week and was pleasantly surprised by the amount and diversity of merchandise available so I returned today with a family member to show off the store and spend some time browsing. It was a lot of fun, you'll find something for just about every major anime fandom right now and there are a wide range of constant sales. You may have noticed that based on the one-star this is going to take a turn. There was a sale on blind-box figures and I was about to purchase one before my relative pointed out it had clearly been tampered with and taped shut again. A closer inspection revealed it had been fully opened and the packaging ripped up. I can't say for certain that this was the employees doing, but we noticed it on many of the blind-boxes in the store, so either they are aware or not aware enough of someone doing this. I selected two that appeared to be intact as they were part of the sale. At the register however, I was told they were not included in the sale despite being in a box of several placed directly under a sign that stated, "buy one get one half off: blind boxes and foils". I was told it wasn't a blind-box (it's a HunterXHunter figure in a concealed box that you need to open with six possible figure options.... And ultimately paid full price for both. It also took a very long time to get an employee's attention to check out at all. As I was being rung up the employee asked for my phone number, which I provided, and he said "Oh, I can get you a discount". He asked for an ID after asking how my name was spelled (I assumed because it's unusual and he was an older gentleman) and informed me I'd been signed up a for a discount program. The program was not explained at all and I felt extremely uncomfortable and pressured to go through with everything since it was already put in and rung up. I felt as though I was clearly being told, not asked. He stated after my purchase was made that it would cost money going forward and I could cancel at any time, including right away. Immediately after exiting the store I called to cancel and was told I cannot cancel right away as the registration hasn't processed yet. I had a great experience the previous time I was in the store but I can't say I'll ever be going back after this. Some really shady dealings between the misleading signs (or not honoring promotions), opened boxes, and deceptive practices to sign people up for things. I found out after the fact on my receipt that he took my middle name and birthday without my consent to put into the system. Super disappointed because they do have a good selection of items, but I would avoid at all costs and go across the way to Hot Topic or Spencer's.

it was a great store with a lot of kpop albums, and for me since there are no other kpop store in ct, it made me super happy that they actually had one, but all the albums inside are so over priced, for example between 1&2 albums were like 45 dollars when target sells them for 25 i also priced matched them and got two for 14 dollars each. used/opened albums were 23 thats near a price for sealed albums.
