We stayed here over night to do a night dive. Managed to catch lobster and come back to a lovely campground and cook it on their fire pits. Amazing facilities there. Toilets were clean and showers were good. The drinking fountain didn't work sadly. Very short walk to the beach from the campground. Very picturesque. Thank you to the staff that helped us when we arrived.

We were at this campground in April 2024. This is the worst campground we have ever been to. It should not even be open. They have not made repairs caused be the 2018 flood. Half of the exit road has collapsed, the walk path to the beach that goes under the road is full of debris including the concrete pieces from the walkway that were destroyed during the flood. Our site was supposed to be a 30 foot sit. It was only 24 foot. We had to park on the opposite side of the site in order to get in. The site across the road was blocked off so no one could reserve it. This was done so we could get our rig out of our site. Grass was tall and not mowed .........

My go to local get-away spot for beach, camping, fires, hiking, and legal beer on beach as well as camp areas. Restrooms private. Showers warm w tokens. Clean.
Good daytime parking and beach fun. Hard to get reservation for camping in except winter rains. Expensive. Details online State Park. Daytime beach only can park on PCH and walk on. Dangerous w kids. Use caution due to fast traffic.

Great family camp site spaces are roomy and clean. There is a table and fire pit in each camp space. Most have trees for shade and provide some privacy. There are bathrooms and paid showers. You have to get tokens for the showers and it’s only by one spot not all of them. There is a little store to buy food items and other necessities along with gifts for your trip. The beach is a 15 or less min walk and there is area for dogs too! Also a parking lot for any extra or large cars.

The reaaon why I rate it 1 star is because of the noise at this campground. This campground (as many close to L.A.) attract loud crowds that are there to party. In our case we had a group that booked five campsites and then congregated at the campsite next to us and partied all night. The camphost asked them to be quiet around 11pm. Around 2 am (after they had woken up my kids) I did talk to them but it just turned into an argument with 20 or so drunk people. I decided then to just leave the campground. A 3 day beach camping trip my kids looked forward to completely ruined due to the inability to get any sleep there. I don't know what quiet hours are for if they are not enforced. And it's not just a one time thing, this is an ongoing issue with campgrounds close to LA. Also, bathrooms are few and far between. As a result I noticed that one campsite I looked at heavily smelled like pee. Most sites are very spacious and shady though. A beautiful beach is nearby and the northern stretch is dog friendly. If it just wasn't for the noise at this campground I would go back and had rated differently.

For the most part it's a great place, I just had a bad experience because the website doesn't let you see the spot prior to reservations. I had reserved one with an electric outlet so I could inflate the air mattress. The problem was that the outlet is way too far from the actual set up site and even with extension chords it was not enough. Also no bench was there, made me upset to see about 4-6 spots near me that were open and they didn't let me switch to. They have a little store, food truck, showers, close to the beach, so I made the most of it, but it could've been better.
