Wow! I’ve only been to this store 2 or 3 times. The first time I was there was beyond uncomfortable to shop even though I was only browsing. The older man followed me all over the store. “Can I help you find anything?” “Do you need any help?” I kept saying, “no thank you, just looking.” As I was leaving after not purchasing anything, he said, “couldn’t find anything you were looking for?” I responded, “No! I don’t like being followed around like I’m a criminal!”

Today was even worse! I am a crown member, so you earn points when you make purchases to receive rewards. You also get a free card every month (Just because). I’m also a Hallmark+ member, so I also get coupons of $5 off $10 and $5 off $5. All the coupons can be stacked (used at same time). You can also use them on sale items and clearance (at least I have in the past without any problems).

I was getting my Just because card today and a Christmas ornament that was 1/2 off. I used my free card coupon, $5 off $10 coupon, $5 off $5 coupon (which the older man scrutinized before ringing it up and said, “Wow! I’ve never seen that one before!” With a smirk on his face which brought the attention of the one employee as the register and another employee that may have or may not have been the owner.) I then used a $2 reward coupon and he said, “do you have another for a $1 too?” Because my $16.49 purchase came down to $1.49. Then the ladies said, “that’s a lot of coupons”. I responded that I belong to the hallmark+ which one lady had no idea what that was. The other said, “great so you pay them and they give you coupons to use in the store so we lose money.” I was rather taken back by the comment. I responded, “ don’t you get paid for the coupons?” The man answered with, “they send something at the end of the month but it’s hard to track.”

Well that is not my problem! Take that up with the company. Learn how to do your accounting tracking better.

Like really? I felt humiliated because I was using coupons. Absolutely appalled! How could you treat a customer like this?

This store is right around the corner from my house, but I’ll go the distance to Rehoboth Beach to Pam’s because they actually appreciate your business and are friendly and helpful. A better selection too! When I use coupons there, the response is, “now that’s how you shop” with smiles!

I never see many people in Patti’s and I’m sure these are some of the reasons. Degrading your customers is definitely not cool! I will not be returning here!

The nicest people, they were willing to do an exchange for me for a defective product when I didn’t have a receipt, even made sure the new item worked right and went above and beyond to charge it up! I will absolutely recommend them to anyone and give them any business I can in the future. Thanks guys!!

If you want to be spoken to rudely, shop here. Patty should be ashamed of how she speaks to others. Very frustrating to go to a store with a purchase in mind, find said items and leave without them because of how a business owner chooses to speak to others. For context, I didn’t even need help with my purchase, as it was clearly on the shelf, I didn’t even make it to the cash register before I made the decision to leave without my purchase.

Tried to patronize a local store and was treated very poorly. Won't be going back.

Went here to get a wedding card and had my two kids with me. Was so happy to find a beautiful 99 cent cards. When I brought it to the register and took my debit card out, the gentleman at the cash register (whom I'm assuming is the owner) asked "are you really going to pay for this with your card? You really don't have $1?" I politely told him no that I didn't have a $1 bill like most people whom don't carry cash. He then told me rudely that I can just keep the card because he would t even make anything after processing fees. I explained to him that as a business owner I am fully aware of processing fees and that it is never an issue with me and my customers. He then told me to just take the card and I told him he can keep it and walked out with my dignity. And taught my boys a good lesson about respecting yourself and not letting someone make you feel less. They can keep their business, I will be taking it elsewhere. Also, I used to live in the area many years ago and would buy from here often. It's not like I have never spent money there. But I know I will never spend another cent again.

The worst. We are locals and in often when I get groceries next door. My son is obsessed with any little trinket store like so, however the employees here follow us around as if we are theives every. Single.time. Fine. But this last time my son was picking out his reward for good report card and the employee snatched the telescope my son picked up (22$ so I’d hardly call that expensive. Now the popsicle stick windmill priced at 100 is overpriced but hey!) out of my sons hands the moment he picked it up and proceeded to tell him he needed to be careful if he breaks it it is expensive, quite condescendingIy. I then made the worker aware that My son and I were in our way to the front counter to purchase it . He continued his lecture. Then Patty goes on to tell me all the horror stories of the childrens past. Making it very evident that we were being treated poorly due to previous customers mistakes. I’m sorry but last I checked you literally MUST pick an item up to not only look at it to see if it is even something you’d want to buy. You also must touch it to transport it to the front counter? I’m so confused . Came to write about these last few experiences and am not surprisingly met with other peoples similar experiences. Save yourself some time and BS and even some money and just buy it on Amazon

Went in to find a coffee cup for my boyfriend’s mother. She wanted one that she could place her whole hand through and I found one that was perfect for her! When I went up to pay for it and the cashier asked if I wanted a box and it gift wrapped. When she was done it looked absolutely gorgeous and at no extra charge. Everyone working was kind and helpful. When looking for more gifts I’ll be sure to head back as there was so many different things at very reasonable prices. Thank you to the women at the counter for wrapping the gift, you made my day 🙂

There is a mentally unstable woman running this store. She chased my girlfriend out of her store for using her cellphone to confirm my $100 gift purchase would be enjoyed by the recipient. She was in the middle of ringing another customer out and chose to make the customer wait so she could yell at us for phone use and then chase us out to my car screaming because I chose not to follow through with my purchase.
