This is such a great place! The employees are really friendly, and the selection of stuff is incredible! Although, the times you can even go there are very limited, as of writing this, you can only come here from 11AM-3PM. Which is unfortunately a huge downside, as I feel that (as a high school student) more people would go here if the times were increased a tiny bit.
The way I see it, this place has a lot of retro, thrifty items that a lot of people in my school would love to buy from, although we unfortunately can’t due to the times provided for us.
Other than the very tight times available, this is still and incredible place that is perfect for anyone who enjoys going through thrift stores! But the drawbacks are still huge, and limit this store to what it could be

I was blessed by this store. The staff was so nice and friendly. I found a pair of ice skates for 15 dollars that have been a blessing. Definitely worth checking out if you like thrift stores, it felt light and clean inside.

Went there today April 19th. It was my first and last time there. There were so many people on a Monday morning at 12pm, terrible you couldn’t even look around without bumping into someone or someone bumping into you. Definitely over capacity per Covid19 social distance restrictions. It’s very overpriced for second hand items.I guess they figure everyone in Greenwich has money so they mark up the prices. I didn’t even make it half way thru the store before turning around and leaving. Waste of time and money driving there.

I was just absolutely appalled by the way I was treated in this store.

I came down to visit as I had seen a children’s table and chairs set for sale a few days prior. I struggled to get my stroller through the door - as I get in a woman is finishing a purchase - I am not even through the door and trying to position the stroller so the woman could leave when I’m instructed by the cashier that I should be holding the door for the other patron. Mind you - I’m also 30 weeks pregnant.

There is a second person waiting in line to purchase and given the size of the stroller, I can not get through the narrow isle so I wait patiently for her to finish her purchase as well. At that time, the cashier looks at me and asks if I’m waiting for the second purchaser and I reply no, I’m just waiting so I can squeeze through to look at the children’s section.

I make my way back to the children’s area where I see it’s a bit congested and would struggle to turn around - so I begin my turn around in what I’m rudely told is a back room not supposed to be entered by patrons.

At hat point I had enough of this store and turned around to leave when a sweet other patron apologized for the Rummage Room’s rudeness.

To add insult to injury, the same cashier who demanded I help the patron watched me leave, intently, with absolutely no interest in helping hold the door as she requested I do to the previous customer.

I will never enter that store again.

BUYER BEWARE.
The lady at the counter rang up the wrong amount when I purchased shoes there, I didn't notice it until I was home. I went back to the store and they confirmed that I was overcharged but instead of apologizing and refunding my money, they said it had to go towards another purchase. Not a big deal but what made it worse, the manager had to ring me up on the forced purchase stated that it was up to me to check my receipt and if anyone is overcharged again, they would offer no compensation. They made a mistake but were trying to blame me, their customer, for it. Leanne (the manager) kept on lecturing me about making sure I got charged the right amount... and if not it was on me, not the person who overcharged me. Not only is that immoral, i think it may be illegal.
It was probably a honest mistake, but the reaction of the manager made me feel like they were just a bunch of thieves. She (the manager) wanted to save face instead of just doing the right thing.
This review in no way should be a reflection of the church, I've been to concerts there and the Christmas mass, it is stunning. But as for The Rummage Room, never again. CAVEAT EMPTOR.

Today November 18 2020, I had the opportunity go to shopping at said store where I suffered discrimination because of how she is dresser since the two people who were inside the store were just leaving my work! The way I was dressed they thought I didn’t have to pay for the purchase and besides that they made me open My bag since they thought I had taken something without paying how bad it feels to do that!!! Because it is not fair that they judged working people it is supposed to be a place where they help since it is second hand!!!

The rummage room has great items. Also frequent 50% off in a category. Particularly with clothing items, there are very few with stains spots or damage. As with brickabrack; some things are marked As Is, which allows the shopper a heads up to evaluate the condition vs the price. They organize shoes, books ,kitchen Items, linens, sewing, glassware, lamps, jewelry, small furniture (such as step stool, end table etc). They have a small one person dressing room. Items are donated and proceeds go back as $ to community organizations.

Great men's wear that is gently used and very reasonably priced. I travel here from Florida to shop their bargains. Burberry's coats, genuine Saville Row jackets, British and Italian designed shirts and ther best of Madison Avenue... even custom tailored. On weekends, Peg is the heart and soul...keeps the place humming and always wears a smile.
