Our experience was a 10/10. Hanna was our point person and was such a pleasure to work with. He came to our home and without even asking put shoe covers on, which I found very respectful. He gave us his honest opinion and was extremely vital in helping us pick our perfect shades. They are modern, sleek and provide warmth to our home. He also was very communicative in the process and was stuck to his word when it came to deadlines or pricing, which is hard to come by in this business. I wish I could work with more people like Hanna! Jennifer was a great communicator and made everything happen very quickly. Pedro, our shades installer, was extremely efficient, he took lots of care in cleaning and respecting our space, and came with the kindest attitude. All in all, we loved our experience because of the people we worked with!

Raymond was my sales person, and he became a friend during this project -- in our new home. I enjoyed working with him! I bought plantation shutters for three arched windows, awesome custom draperies for a nursery for children, (12 ft. custom fabric draperies that close, and two library doors draperies, same fabric, in that nursery), and one bedroom using soft Pirouettes on two arched windows. I am most pleased. I recommend Shades by Design.

I’m very confused to see so many positive reviews. I typically don’t have bad experiences with any companies and usually never leave bad reviews - but this has got to be the worst I’ve ever had. And quite honestly, it’s shocking with a product so expensive.

Since I got my blinds installed, I have had the motor replaced several times. I had problems right away. I have had appointments to fix countless problems, I believe I’ve had technicians come to my apartment 10/15 times, with several months of waiting for products to arrive, ect
- But what has made this the most frustrating, is how I have had to continuously reach out, again and again and again to follow up with this company, as if I am being ignored.

I’ve also had my (at the time brand new) baseboards destroyed during their several appointments to replace broken motors,
And now my problem is, I initially was not given a charger to charge my blinds (almost 7 thousand dollar blinds apparently doesn’t come with a charger) when I initially asked about the charger, I was then given a defective charger - and I am now being charged for a new one.
This process of getting a charger for my blinds has so far been taking 2 weeks (so far) - with my blinds not working as I am unable to charge them. I have again had to reach out, again and again and again, not getting responses or follow ups.

Seeing these reviews I’m genuinely confused why my experience has been so awful. Seems like everyone else is having no issues.

EDIT* after seeing the response -

Manager reached out AFTER I wrote this review (of course) with, again, no offer to make anything right or pay to repair my destroyed wall. The fact that I wasn’t even offered to have the new chargers shipped with no charge baffled me already, so yes when said manager reached out, I didn’t want to deal with the hassle yet again.

Renato Gonclaves, the technician of Shades By Design, came by my home and helped me with setting up the charger for my shades. He was kind enough to explain the differences in my shades and how each one works. He truly went beyond to make sure I felt comfortable. He was courteous and efficent. I would highly reccommend him and the company for window treatments.
