This has to be one of the best and most interesting secondhand/costume stores I've ever come across. The store's contents are highly curated and reflect a fun, creative vibe while still being reasonably priced (for most categories). The various displays are always well-done, especially the front windows.

Discovered this gem while visiting and I cannot express how much I love it!! It’s a perfect combination of vintage, trendy clothing and COSTUMES!! As if this weren’t enough to please the thrift enthusiast… they also bought tons of my mother in law’s things who sadly passed away while we were visiting. They made a special exception to buy during the weekend as we were leaving for home. 5 stars are not enough!! 10 out of 10!!!

This store is awesome. Everyone is very helpful. The one British girl helped my girlfriend and I put together our Halloween costumes. I was feeling really lost when I first started designing the costume but the Brit girl made it fun and easy. THANK YOU!

Solstice is a for sure go to for Halloween and all the other costume events in NC 🙂 but during off season they also have started stocking really cool furniture, tapestries and other home goods. I have bought and sold with Solstice, consigned and traded goods. They are always fair with pricing. Remember to always check the jewelry case, there are wonderful sparkley things and beautiful unique pieces of jewelry. I often find sterling silver pieces at fair prices.

I was visiting Nevada City from Australia. I went in to the shop with my partner and I found a jacket that was on the mannequin in the window that I liked. I ask one of the shop assistants if I could try it on. She said yes sure!! She removed it, I tried it on and wanted to purchase it. That’s when the fun began, another attendant spoke to the person serving me and said you’re not aloud to sell the window items until the owner says it’s okay….never in my life have I been in a store when the won’t sell you something that has a tag with a price on it. That made me wait while they tried to get hold of the owner with no luck. They eventually took my name and number and told be they would call me at 4.30. I walked out pretty annoyed and went off to look in other shops, 30 mins later it was back on the mannequin in the window and I never got a phone call. Really poor service and attitude if I could have given less than 1 star I would have!
