It's worth paying more for a pet friendly community. A quiet, comfortable place to live and play. Accessible gym, swimming pool, and dog park. Great rental staff who are interactive and available. Great views in an awesome setting. Plenty of parking. They have monthly activities and raffles. Don't move here if you're not willing to belong!

We recently moved into Southwood Acres, and we couldn’t be happier with our choice! Our apartment is comfortable and spacious, and we truly appreciate the thoughtful design and quality finishes. The community is beautiful and well-maintained, creating a peaceful and welcoming atmosphere. The location is ideal, and the staff has been incredibly helpful and attentive, ensuring that we settled in smoothly. Having just moved into an apartment at Southwood acres, I am still unpacking as I will be doing for a while. I am just delighted with my apartment. It is quite spacious and very comfortable. I haven’t lived in an apartment in a very long time, having lived in houses for many years. I was unsure of apartment living, but find that I needn’t have been concerned. The staff has been so welcoming and helpful that makes me know that I’ve made the right choice! I look forward to using the amenities they offer and to meeting my new neighbors as I use them.

Current Resident at Southwood Acres- I can’t recommend it enough. It’s a quiet and peaceful haven! Maintenance responds so quickly to any issues, they’re professional and friendly. The grounds are meticulously maintained. The management team goes above and beyond to create fun ways to engage within the community. Amanda, the property manager is amazing- she has created an exceptional team that delivers a great experience for residents of our community!

I've lived here for 8 years and have enjoyed my stay.
We had very old appliances that had issues with them and we just recently got them replaced and the new ones have been working great.

Pros
-Beautiful Property
-Nice area for pets
-Safe community with minimal crime
-Good location
-Beautiful pool (tends to be a bit cold though)
-Maintenance isn't great but better than any other apartment community I have been at. (The Maintenance foreman of all the properties in the area is knowledgeable and impressed me when he came and took our HVAC unit apart)
-Management listens to you and will genuinely try to help you if you treat them with respect

Cons
-High rent (rent increases on average ~$50-100 per year)
-HVAC units are old and tend to have some issues here and there
-Local management and maintenance turn over frequently. New people every year or 2. (better than most apartment communities though)
-Electric is not great, brownouts every now and then in the summer and short power outages from time to time. (this may be more to do with Westfield Electric than Southwood Acres)
-Parking spots can be a limited sometimes if people are visiting
-Neighbors complain if you walk your dog near their apartments

Amanda and Ashley have been a heaven sent to me and my family. They were able to help us move into a more comfortable living area. They made the transition very simple, smooth and easy. We love our new home! They both were so kind to our kids, very warm and caring people. Amazing atmosphere. If we had a problem, they were there to fix it asap. Wonderful management team.

Southwood Acres is an amazing apartment community that my family has called home for over the past two years. We are extremely pleased of our living experience in this community. First, my family has felt safe and at peace living in our apartment unit. We have enjoyed using the various amenities this community offers even at night. Also, all of our maintenance requests were resolved within 48 hours of our initial request date. During the winter months, snow is quickly removed by their groundskeeping team/contractor. The best aspect of our living experience is our interaction with Southwood Acres staff. Every staff member has acted professionally and courteously toward myself and my family members. They have resolved all of our concerns and make us feel respected during each of our interactions. There other benefits about living in this apartment community worth mentioning, notably the swimming pool that is well-kept and open during the summer months, as well as the 24/7 gym that provides an opportunity for residents to exercise at any time. I highly recommend this apartment community to anyone or household who is looking for a stellar living experience.
