Beautiful old church in one of Louisiana's oldest towns. Opelousas is going through some leaner times, but the parish is keeping the church up so well. I was so happy to walk inside and see how it all looked. The cemetery next door has some very old graves, including two soldiers of Napoleon.

Great people and beautiful church.

Saint Landry Parish was established 21 years before the Declaration of Independence in 1776.In this church I like the architecture, and decor. The statues and stained glass windows are beautiful and help me meditate on the life of Our Savior and the examples of holy people. The people of the parish seem welcoming.
Most of all, I enjoy the faith and reverence with which the Holy Mass is celebrated.

Wet to a funeral there and it was a really awesome service and the 3 pastures did an excellent job. And a very beautiful church.

It is a very old church, pretty big. The present pastor, Father Brady, is very personable and friendly. He is responsible for the many restorations. 12:05 am daily mass, 8:00 , 10:00 and 5:00 pm mass on Sundays.

This is a beautiful, old, historic church. While I had driven by this church hundreds of times I had never been inside before!! Very glad that I got to see it inside.
