We had the best experience here getting our Christmas tree! We just moved to Farmington, and found this place. It was a beautiful drive up there, pretty close to Canton and Collinsville and Nepaug Reservoir. We pulled up and Mr. Steadman greeted us at the barn. He is the nicest man, and was very helpful. He handed us a saw, and had some very handy tree carts ready for us to carry the tree back. There are SO many trees, and it is very picturesque. We also thought these trees were some of the straightest and well proportioned we've ever seen. We picked a 7 footer and it was perfect (see picture). All trees are $50 even - we paid cash (but it is possible they accept cards, we just can't verify). We are definitely going back, if for nothing else than to enjoy talking to Mr. Steadman. We loved the whole experience, and highly recommend!

A word of caution: We almost missed it! Google was wrong!! Google took us to the address but we didn't see a sign. We kept driving and saw the trees, then we saw a sign just down the road, past the house, advertising parking, but we didn't see any clear indicator where to go. We finally saw a long drive next to a white house, and went back to a barn, and were happy to find it!

Of course, maybe we are dumb and missed the sign, so if everyone else had no trouble, ignore us haha!

EDIT: We used to go here every year but this year they raised their prices to $50 a tree. Considering that trees are in ridiculously high demand right now, that feels like price gouging. Next year we are going to find somewhere else to go. Pre-cut trees are so much cheaper and I just don't feel like it's worth it to pay that much of a markup just for the privilege of cutting down the tree myself (and saving them from wasting trees, since in this model the only trees that get cut are the tress that sell). It's sad because this was our favorite place, but I just don't have $50 to shell out for a tree.

Knocking off a couple stars because the prices are no longer "great" as I said in my previous review.

This is our favorite tree farm and we go every year to cut down a tree. The prices are great; they have a bunch of different varieties of trees; and the best part is that it's not one of those overly commercialized and insanely crowded places with hayrides and petting zoos and overpriced concession stands and throngs of people. It's just a serene farm on a hillside where you can relax and escape all the craziness that accompanies the holidays, and search for the perfect tree. I believe it's cash only so keep that in mind. I love this place.

I've gotten our tree a few years here, They're friendly and reasonable priced. This year they had a very small selection but many growing. They should be replenished very nicely in a few years

I go here every year to pick out a fresh Christmas tree. The trees have beautiful shape, fragrance, and color. You couldn’t ask for a more perfect tree. You could tell this must be a labor of love for the Steadman Brothers. This is a tradition we’ll continue for a lifetime ❤️
