I would give this nightmare a negative 5 if that were at all possible! After spending thousands of dollars a month to secure care and safety for my mother-in-law, this place did not fulfill any of their promised expectations! They claim to be experts on dementia care, but regularly allowed my mother-in-law to be physically assaulted, often blaming her for their lack of supervision. Many times we would show up and she would be covered head to toe in her bodily fluids with staff completely unaware. They also on several occasions mixed up her medication’s because of their poor recordkeeping. This place is horribly under staffed. Every time we tried to work with them, to address these issues, they made promises that they would not fulfill, and excuses as to why things were never their fault. After trying for several months, we realized that she was not safe there and have moved her out much to their somehow surprise. They really only care about the money! They have no idea how fortunate they are that they were dealing with my father-in-law and not me, because I would’ve had the police in their facility at least twice for the assaults against my mother-in-law, and I would’ve had an attorney on retainer suing this place for their obvious negligence! One of the worst experiences ever! If you care at all about your relative steer clear of this place!

My mother was there with Dementia she was left unsupervised and fell and broke her hip. We were told they wouldn’t let her back because she fell. We then had The Crossings in Riverview come visit her in the hospital and they approved her to go there. After telling Tessera that she was approved to transfer to The Crossings they wanted her to stay. We transferred to The Crossings and she lived there for three years until passing. Tessera was way understaffed and we way overpaid and didn’t get the care we were told when first going there. Keep in mind those rooms are so far away from where the staff hangs out your loved ones will always be in jeopardy.

My in-laws finally needed assistance at 90-91. We came from Texas to help find a place where they would be happy and taken care of. We had been to several facilities but found something at each one that could be better. When we went to Tessera of Brandon, the feeling that this could be the place was almost immediate. As I walked in the first thing I saw was a wall of windows. The natural light and tall ceiling was like a breath of fresh air and I couldn’t help but smile, it was so pretty. Very quickly we were greeted by a friendly staff member who made us feel at home. The dining room was near, and as residents passed by headed to lunch each one spoke to us and looked very happy. I noticed the printed menu for the day was displayed nicely on an easel with each entree displayed next to it which gave the feeling of a high end restaurant. I told my sister-in-law to look for something wrong, it just seemed too perfect. We were drawn to the wall of windows as Dr Bill was called to talk with us. Dr Bill was fun, personable, and felt like someone we could trust. As we talked and learned more about Tessera thru the tour, we all knew this was where we would feel the most comfortable for our parents/in-laws. My father-in-law kept saying it’s amazing how happy everyone is. None of us could find anything wrong and we all fell in love with the staff, building, and courtyard. We were able to move most of what they wanted to take before we went back home to Texas. My in-laws have been there about 2 weeks and I’m told by my in-laws and other family members who live in the area that they still haven’t found anything wrong. The staff continues to be friendly, positive, and knows my in-laws each time I’ve talked to someone on the phone. The protocols in place are very comforting and make us feel a little closer such as the email notifications each time the in-house Dr sees them, the Facebook posts during Hurricane Milton that everyone was safe and returned calls without having left a message. We feel they are with friends who truly care and have such a peace of mind. Most importantly my in-laws still can’t find anything wrong. Dr Bill and each staff member at Tessera of Brandon make it feel like your home with people who truly care about you. Tessera of Brandon is perfect for our family and such a blessing. I am thankful. Tessera of Brandon is an exceptional workplace and a remarkable environment for residents. The management team is nothing short of fantastic, always supportive, and truly invested in both the staff and the residents' well-being. The residents here are amazing, and it's clear that this is a place where you'd feel confident and comfortable bringing your mom or dad. If you are looking for a community that genuinely cares about its people, Tessera is the place.

I've had limited experience with this type of facility. My in-laws were in 2 different facilities which I would have given a -1 and a 2 star ratings. Now, My brother is in Tessera and they are 10 times better. He seems much happier there, than living with us. They keep him more socially involved and active than we were able to when he lived with us. They also provide opportunities for families to keep involved in their residences lives.

I have done work with Jill Andrews from Tessera for years and she is the one of the most amazing individuals I’ve ever met! Caring loving, friendly, out going intelligent funny a true Servants heart. Tessera of Brandon is amazing! I visited about 10 assisted living facilities for my grandmother and they were my top pick. I myself, would live there. Expectations were high and they met the needs of my grandmother and our family. Staff is loving, caring and exceptional. They know the members living there as well as the family both professionally and personally. When my grandmother's health deteriorated, they were willing to accommodate her needs and worked with us. She had lived in her house for 60+ years so this move was difficult but with the staff's help she was able to transition peacefully. When she passed they were grieving as well as they grew to love my grandmother. They worked with us to the very end. I recommend Tessera to everyone....they are the best!

Greatest staff and loving care ever. Our mom required living assistance in her later years and after touring many assisted living facilities we chose Tessera. Not only was there facilities perfect but they provide many crafts and entertainment. The staff was loving and caring on my mom’s every day journey. Tessera made my mom a part of their family. Thank you to all the personnel who cared for our mother. Love you
