We stayed at Castaways on the river. The office staff was not very friendly or helpful. I have been coming to Astor for many years and stayed at many different places over the years. I will not return to Castaways as they are the worst and most expensive of all the other places we've stayed. Greedy and they could care less about their patrons.
They overcharged me for an extra night on my credit card. I called and spoke to the manager, he was not interested in hearing my problem.I would not return or reccomend this place to anyone! It's a shame this businesses is so inconsiderate and money hungry!

I stayed in the fishing cabin #301 from Friday until Monday and had a boat rental foe the day on Saturday.

The cabin was amazing and I loved how close it was to the water. The screened front porch was awesome and I spent a lot of time out there. Just a heads up, there is a cat that roams the area and is super friendly. He belongs to the employees and is well taken care of.

The staff is so friendly too. They will give you instructions about the boat and give you a map so you don't get lost.

The boat was so much fun. We went out to silver Glen springs and had a blast. I wasn't sure of the fuel price but it turned out to be only $30 for the day which wasn't bad at all.

The staff helped us launch the boat and bring it back in to dock.

I will be back for sure. Thank you Castaway team for the wonderful weekend. My family really enjoyed the time on the boat and I loved the cabin. Shout out to R+L crew!

Took one of their pontoon boats out for the day. The staff was very helpful and personable. They explained everything to us very clearly and helped us (first time boaters) feel confident on the water. I'd definitely recommend using your phone GPS to navigate the area if you aren't familiar. We drove up to Silver Glen Springs and had a really nice time on the water and even saw a baby gator by the dock! Will definitely be going back! Thank you to the Castaways team for your excellent customer service!

Jody and I booked a half day pontoon, had such a wonderful time called and asked to keep for the full day, with no concerns from staff. The boats are very well maintained and very clean. The dock staff are amazing, ensuring you know the entire boat operation. If you are renting, make sure you get to office 30 minutes prior, this time allows you to fill out required documents and ample time for dock staff to give instructions. We will be renting a boat from Castaways again. Thanks.

Took one of their pontoon boats out for the day rented cottage 400 for the weekend(this was awesome lil place everything you would need and after a day on the boat it was nice to come back and not have to drive home just yet, we are from Ocala. The staff were very helpful and personable. They explained everything to us very clearly. We drove up to Silver Glen Springs and had a really nice time on the water, get there early it fills up fast. Will definitely be going back! Thank you to the Castaways team for your excellent customer service! Oh definitely goto Sparky’s Place less than 5 minutes away, we ate there for dinner twice and breakfast as we were headed home. Highly recommend

The overnight accommodations we're good. The manufactured home that we stayed in was clean and spacious enough. Not anything very extravagant, but a good size for the price point. The screened in patio was a nice touch. The beds we're comfortable, just the right amount of firmness that I prefer. Check in/out was easy. Much of the grounds and driveway we're under a few inches of water, but there has been quite a bit of rain recently. If you are renting a boat also it's convenient to stay on property too if you are from out of town.

My wife and I came here with our four kids a few months ago not expecting much more than a fish camp. We were very pleasantly surprised with what we found. The house we were put up in was very large and SUPER clean.
The kitchen was stocked with utensils, cups, plates, pots, pans, and paper towels.
We arrived after office hours and they made arrangements for us to be able to get into our place and check in the following morning. The staff was very helpful.
We were expected to wash our own towels and linens which was okay with us since the house had a washer and dryer in it.
A++++, will definitely be back.
