Visiting The Comic Book Shop was an absolute pleasure! Walking through the aisles, I felt a sense of excitement and nostalgia. The staff was incredibly helpful and introduced me to a new DC character, Nubia. I'm always on the lookout for Black women comics and superheroes, and this store exceeded my expectations. I'm thrilled to have found this gem to explore and can't wait to discover more. If you're a comic book enthusiast or just curious, make sure to visit and explore this 35-year-old treasure!

This review absolutely kills me to write. At one time I would have given a 5 star review. From original owner Fred to the Titus’, I had a subscription there for over 20 years. One of my favorite times of the week was picking up my books and chatting with the people in the store. That ended with the new owners who are more concerned with gaming than comics. The final straw was when they just didn’t order my books one week and I cancelled my box. The manager didn’t care less and let a customer since the 90’s just walk out the door. I think that says a lot about what the new owners think about customer service and caring about people who have supported the shop for decades.

This place has had a major overhaul and much improved. All the employees have always been great but I had gone in here once over a year ago to get Pokémon cards for my kid and it felt like I was walking into a political rally. I went back today and things were majorly changed. Aisles with toys, collectibles, comics, games, etc. Essentially all the stuff you’d expect in a comic book shop. Back room was much more organized than what I had seen before, my kids love playing the arcade games and checking out the memorabilia. I can now say I highly recommend this place!

I decided to get back into comic books and visited The Comic Book Shop recently.
Seems they have changed ownership and remodeled… having said that, I had a positive experience. The owner was very kind and helpful, had a wide selection and place looked great for being in the middle of a remodel.
I would highly recommend shopping there if you are in the North Wilmington area.

PS: I wish the former owner Sarah all the best in her future endeavors.

Nicest employees who are super knowledgeable and always willing to help without being underfoot. Great inventory and a good gently used section if you want to dip your toe without spending a ton. Always finding stuff here that's a pain to find elsewhere and if they don't have it they'll help hunt it down.

One of the friendliest and most generous shops I’ve ever been to. They host weekly Pokemon League and they were the only shop I was able to get Prismatic Evolution Pokemon card packs from on opening day! And I pulled an Umbreon EX ALT ART thanks to them. Highly recommend stopping in for your comic book, retro gaming and TCG needs.

I have been going to this shop for many years and always had a pleasant experience. I went to the shop last week (12/12) and the man working there was extremely nice and helpful. I was purchasing Magic the Gathering cards, one card I was about to purchase was priced wrong and I was told by someone else I could not purchase it. This was dissapointing that the store did not honor the price on the card.
I put in a $50 order on (12/14) for Magic singles for pick up. I noticed as cards were in my cart that the prices were increasing. I spent hours putting an order together for myself and friends. I paid via Paypal and received a Paypal notification that my money was refunded. I was confused and sent an email. I was told that they were changing prices and not taking orders. Why not take your site down if you are doing this and not waste peoples time? This is frustrating and I will no longer support a shop that does not honor prices and cancels orders. Its wonderful that they have so many Magic singles to chose from, but this is just shady business.

Edit - Yes, You don't sell Magic the Gathering cards on your site, but EE Comics & Games sells cards in your store and the cards can be ordered on his site for pick up at the Comic Book Shop. You are affilated with him.

Cool little store that feels like a blast from the past but I got lowballed here trying to sell a comic book. The owner made a big deal out of some minor imperfections and tried to make it seem like it was worth a lot less than it actually was. He also took the book out of the protective sleeve without asking me if it was OK first. I went to another comic book shop in bryn mawr PA and got 50% more cash value for it. I also asked if I could do a partial trade as part of the sale and walked away with a different book priced at 40 but he let me have it for 20 and didn't even try to haggle me on the trade. Before inspecting the book he asked if he could take it out of the sleeve. Really a night and day difference between the two places. Shame because I really wanted to like this place but the owner left a bad taste in my mouth, won't be back
