Went to the emergency room with chest pains. After triage , was admitted and spent 2 days getting a variety of tests. Blood work, chest x-ray, stress test, echcocardigram, Every single staff member that I came in contact with started with saying there name and explained the procedure I was about to under take. Everyone was always caring, kind and very patient. The nurse assigned to me was awesome, a definite credit to the nursing profession. I was also visited by a Chaplin and the va disability representative. I am extremely pleased with the entire time I spent there and wish to give a very big thank you to everyone. I would not hesitate to return there.

Had radiology today the front desk ladies were extremely helpful. I was in with my son today in the waiting room and with their with help a really long wait time. They were able to fix the delay with in minutes.

Check in staff are unprofessional poorly trained and apathetic particularly if you come in the afternoon near 4:00. Doctors are fantastic, nurses are very good, pharmacy is excellent

Receive 100% Disability Compensation when you spend over 21 days inpatient! $MONEY$

If you or a loved one is suffering from addiction, enroll in the VA's SATP.

SATP is a 28 day inpatient substance abuse treatment program. Think of it as an all inclusive stay where you can solely focus on recovery.

SATP begins at 8:00am and runs until 3:30pm M-F. There are several classes throughout the day, teaching Veterans how to stay sober.

SATP provides an environment where the Veteran is monitored and treated by medical professionals during withdrawals while also allowing the Veteran an opportunity to cope with their cravings and triggers on their own.

Veterans often turn to Substance Abuse in order to cope with anxiety and depression caused by PTSD. Veterans are encouraged to have a PTSD evaluation while in SATP.

Upon completion of SATP, Veterans can begin the PTSD inpatient treatment program. This allows the Veteran to receive treatment for PTSD before they return to Substance Abuse.

Veterans in the SATP or PTSD inpatient program suffering from homelessness and joblessness can enroll in CWT after completing SATP and/or PTSD and stay at the domiciliary for up to an additional 3 to 4 months.

The Compensated Work Therapy program helps Veterans aquire gainful employment.

Upon completion of CWT, Veterans will be gainfully employed. A major benefit from finding a job through CWT is income earned is not considered when calculating income through housing programs.

For example, Veterans in HUDVASH are required to pay 30% of their income towards housing. Income earned through CWT does not count towards the Veteran's 30% payment obligation.

If the Veteran receives disability compensation from the VA, upon completion of their inpatient stay, they can file to have their disability income increased to 100% for the duration of their time inpatient.

For example, if a Veteran is rated 10% disabled due to tinnitus, upon completion of SATP, PTSD, and/or CWT, the Veteran can file to have their disability income increased to 100% for the time they spend inpatient at the VA, so long as their inpatient stay exceeded 21 days.

Note, the 100% disability is temporary, and the Veteran will only receive 100% Disability Compensation for the time they spend inpatient. The Veteran can file for 100% temporary disability compensation after 21 days inpatient, but it is recommended the Veteran wait until they have completed their inpatient stay to file.

To File for temporary disability compensation, simply
1. go to Release of Information/Records at the VA,

2. ask for your SATP, PTSD, and/or CWT completion paperwork,

3. take your records to the DAV office at the VA,

4. file your temporary 100% disability compensation packet with the DAV representative.

Not efficient with care or process. I don’t even want to get into it anymore. After 20 years of failing me. I just want to get care outside the VA network. I think a lot of Veterans and Tri Care Members feel this way. It’s unfortunate but the system is not designed to provide real care. It just keeps getting worse and worse.

I just had an endoscopy in the gastroenterology department. My last one was 10 years ago at the Nashville VA. I was pleasantly surprised by the professionalism, friendliness and thoroughness at Bay Pines from start to finish. It was SO superior to my previous procedure. Two thumbs up!

Always taken care. I have no issues, they found my prostrate cancer when my civilian Dr said they were showing no signs so very greatful for that.
Receiving radiation now and every one is is very great in there treatment of all the patients, top of the line equilment.
