Wilson Robinson, Sr., was a native of Archer, born on May 27, 1927. Mr. Robinson spent much of his life working to improve the community.

He was a founder of the Archer Community Progressive Organization and the Archer Day Care Center, and was President of the Florida State Association of Cooperatives (a seven-county group of black farmers who pooled their resources and crops to obtain fair market prices).

He worked with the Community Action Agency and Three Rivers Legal Services as well as the Alachua County School Board's Head Start Policy Council and was a member of the North Central Florida Regional Planning Council.

He was a man of strong religious faith who served as a deacon, teacher, and Sunday school superintendent for the Archer Church of God in Christ.

Mr. Robinson was the first African American elected to the Archer City Council. He provided leadership in this capacity from 1970 until his death on July 29, 1996. During those twenty-six years, he was Mayor four times.

Much as Wilson's own home was a community gathering place for people for many years, it is our hope that you will find this pavilion an environment suitable to relax, recreate, and commune in fellowship.

A wonderful park with a roofed pavilion perfect for having a party. There is a new playground and the Archer Splash Park. A baseball and football field. Lots of open space ideal for soccer. Very clean bathrooms. Also BBQ grills. Great place to take the kids to have fun that isn't crowded like many parks in nearby towns. It's worth the drive.

The splash pad wasn't working (got there around 1125am). The field between the cemetery thats there and the playground was flooded. I enjoyed that there were 2 playgrounds to give my little ones choices. I'm still disappointed about the splash pad.

Baseball Games will be back at the park this year. After a lot of dedication and hard work put into this park, we have brought back what Archer used to have.

Great park especially during summer hours with the water fun. Today they had a Christmas event and it was also good

I like that they use tire mulch and that everything is clean. Would be nice if they a swimming pool with a lifeguard. It's a pretty decent track to walk , two small playgrounds the kids seem to like it. I'm worried it's not going to be safe once they put the highway through it.. we may not return they will definitely need to wall it in with iron bars and add security is my suggestion very soon.

great playground! the splash park had so much chlorine/bleach that it bleached my children’s clothes and hurt their skin and eyes after 20 minutes of playing. hoping it was because they just added a good amount to start the warmer season and it will lessen.

Very nice park. Clean and well kept. Great place to gather.. Wish the Waterpark was open. Says closed for season. But this is October in Florida and it's still very warm. I'd give it 5 stars if not for that.
