We had a great three day stay in one of the cottages. Our room was a tad dated but super clean, cosy and quiet which made for a great night’s sleep. We also got a chance to meet Rusty, the neighborhood cat, who likes to wander over for visits. He was adorable. ||The spa is great and well worth a visit. It has four pools and a super relaxing barrel sauna. We enjoyed breakfast daily and had a great dinner at wit and wisdom. Also appreciated the little extras such as daily wine tastings and passes to Sonoma Fitness which offers great classes.

Overall, we enjoyed our accommodations at the Lodge. However, to consider staying again, points #5 and 6 would need to be addressed first.
Pluses
1) Upgrading to a Junior Cottage from a double room with balcony/terrace was a great decision. We had a small sitting area with a fireplace and an outdoor fireplace and seating on the private patio. Well- worth it!
2) The room was well-cleaned.
3) The food at Benicio's was excellent.
4) The availability of a shuttle bus at the hotel to transport guests to the downtown Square and back was fantastic.
Disappointments
5) A great disappointment for us was that the self-service wine bar in the lobby was not functioning for our entire stay. So, if you wanted to access the wine bar with its many choices for afternoon or evening, you were out of luck. The only wine options were the restaurant before it closed for the evening or a can of wine purchased at the commissary.
6) We had to request a coffee maker replacement after the first morning. Then, the last morning of our visit with a 5:45am pickup, the coffee maker had no power and the lobby coffee service was not open yet. The angle of the machine plug against the wall and cabinet should be reviewed.

We enjoyed our stay and the hotel is definitely worth serious consideration for our next trip to wine country.

From our check in experience, we knew we were going to have a comfortable stay here at The Lodge. Our concierge was very kind and personable— really made sure our anniversary trip started off right!||Parking is convenient and easy. The room is cozy and comfortable. the adjustable AC is really nice to cool our room during the day and to heat it up during the colder night. After a long day of exploring the Sonoma Coast and Armstrong Redwood Forest, the outdoor tub and plush pillows really melted the exhaustion away. ||Huge shoutout to William and the team|at Benecia’s!!! Really making sure our morning before going on another hike starts off strong! He and the team checked in on us throughout our breakfast, and were extremely kind. Our coffee and waters were always full. Truly such a genuine and attentive service. Thanks again, William!!||Can’t wait to enjoy the rest of our stay!

Had to write this review to specifically highlight how special and healing our experience was made by Kendall Smith, the Front Office Manager, as well as every other team member we met, including John, the Guest Relations Manager.

We originally had a trip planned for The Lodge a few days later already, but booked a last minute additional trip over the weekend after learning of some extremely heartbreaking personal news - a very late stage abortion for my wife after an extremely poor fetal MRI and ultrasound diagnosis due to a very rare genetic disorder.

I let the staff know about the situation just as a heads up in the Marriott app if we appeared unusually upset or sad, and Kendall specifically made sure to immediately go above and beyond for us to make sure every part of the trip was as enjoyable and healing as possible for us. She upgraded us to a secluded cottage suite where we were able to relax in solitude, and when we arrived, had written us an incredibly sweet and thoughtful card and also left us a beautiful spread of chocolates, sparkling waters, and a fruit basket.

When we checked in, she was there to greet us personally and made it clear that if we needed anything at all, just to let her know and she'd make sure anything that could make our stay better would be provided. She absolutely followed through on that, and despite this being a resort property where late checkout isn't guaranteed even for our Platinum Elite status, the team made sure to make it possible for us which was extremely appreciated.

The last day, when we went to swap out our keys for the late checkout, John, the Guest Relations Manager, similarly went out of his way to emphasize that it was a pleasure to have us stay there and that anything we needed, they were happy to assist with.

We received the same level of care and compassion from literally every single other team member we met and interacted with, and this experience truly cemented the Lodge at Sonoma as one of our absolute favorite hotels in the entire world for taking such good care of us at such a difficult personal time.

We'll be spreading the positive word about The Lodge to anyone we ever meet from here on out. Thank you again for everything Kendall and the entire team!

Rooms are clean, spacious, and well decorated. The pool and hot tub are lovely, and were deserted after 8PM on a Sunday evening. Valet parking is $35/night, but there's plenty of self-parking as well. Restaurants close by 8PM (like everywhere else in Napa), and the little stop and shop in the lobby has an extremely limited selection. Some noise in the room, especially given my balcony was facing a road, but it's a fairly quiet area so not too bad. Not a super luxurious stay, but perfect for a casual trip with friends or family.

The ground and public spaces are nice and the price is decent for wine country but this places needs some TLC and to work on their customer service. The hot tub needed a repair while we were there. The wine dispenser wasn't working. The rooms could use some TLC and better light in both the living area and bathroom. I am referring to the cottage rooms with the outdoor space.

All of this I could live with if the service was better. When we ordered room service for breakfast no salt and pepper was provided, and we had eggs that needed it. Water wasn't replenished daily. Some days we'd have one new bottle. Other days none. We started with two. The biggest issue was with the housekeeping. Two of us we're staying there and we started with four towels but then only got three fresh towels daily. Women like a towel for their head.

Then, on our last day we called around 11:45 to say we were going out and to ensure the room was serviced bc we had the DND on. When we got back around 2 it still wasn't serviced. When we were leaving again at 4 we called to say it again wasn't serviced. They asked if we had the DND on and we said no. We had it off since 11:45 and had talked to someone previously. They said they'd let housekeeping know. We leave shortly after and get back at 9 to the room never being serviced. No new towels. Beds weren't made. No water. We call the front desk and we had spoken to that woman earlier. She apologized and asked if she could offer us breakfast on the house but we were leaving early the next day. She said she would comp the resort fee. Later we found it was just for one day. I did call the hotel to talk to a manager and they comped our breakfast from earlier in the week too. I appreciated their response on handling things but for what you pay I expect a lot more from that hotel.

We had a great stay here! Loved walking the winding paths to our cottage. The landscaping was so beautiful and fragrant. The staff were friendly and attentive. The complementary wine tasting was a nice welcome reception. The fireplaces were easy to operate and added to the romantic ambiance.
There were quite a few young children on the property. It was a holiday weekend so maybe more than usual. Our cottage was on the first floor and I was worried we'd hear noise from the upper level, but it was very quiet.

My husband and I recently stayed at the Lodge in Sonoma. We cannot say enough wonderful things about this place. The staff was friendly, helpful, courteous, and kind. The accommodations are amazing. The grounds are lovely and clean. The room was spacious and also clean! Most of all we had a great experience with all of the staff! They provided excellent customer service. Thank you for making our stay so meaningful.
